Regarding this Coffee
The lush terrain of El Lejano Oriente finca in Central Colombia, Risaralda Proince is enriched with abundant springs of drinkable water flowing along its slopes, originating from the pristine forests above. Erwin Solarte, the dedicated farmer, upholds the rich legacy of this land, managing over 5 hectares of exceptional Castillo, Caturra and Cenicafe 1 coffee. These varietals thrive under the protective canopy of native chocoloate, orange, mandarin trees. El Lejano Oriente, with its unique honey anaerobic 72h process, produces coffee with delightful tasting notes of chocolate, orange, and nuts. This exquisite coffee, cultivated at an altitude of 1500 masl, proudly boasts a score of 84.25
Flavor Profile
When roasted to City (225°C), the coffee possesses a robust body with crisp acidity and a profound taste. Its texture is delightfully smooth, complemented by zesty highlights that can be piercing, with undertones of tangerine and nutmeg. Following the initial tang, a chocolatey essence emerges, entwined with a sweet, chocolate spice (owing to the chocolate trees surrounding coffee), blending harmoniously in the mouth and leaving a lingering, sumptuous flavor. Lighten the roast to accentuate the brilliant citrus notes, or increase the heat to 230°C for an enhanced citrus and nuts aroma in your cup. Anaerobic fermentation 72 to 120 hours in barrels made that taste really unique.
