Full Description

Description

Origin: Juayua, Sonsanate, El Salvador

Finca: El Portezuelo

Farmer: Avila Magaña

Process: Washed and Sun dried

Varietals: Bourbon and Caturra

Attitude: 1400 masl

Net Weight: check your size

Tasting notes: Creamy, orange, citrus

The terrain is graced with copious springs of drinkable water along the inclines of El Portezuelo, cascading from the pristine forests above. The youngest sibling in the Avila Magaña lineage, Doña Elsa Luz Avila de Alfaro, continues her forebears' legacy, tending to over 100 hectares of exquisite bourbon coffee, which flourishes under the protective canopy of "Inga" trees. These lands, El Portezuelo, were historically managed by her grandfather, Dr. Francisco Magaña.

Flavor Profile

When roasted to medium roast, the coffee possesses a robust body with crisp acidity and a profound taste. Its texture is delightfully smooth, complemented by zesty highlights that can be piercing, with undertones of tangerine and nutmeg. Following the initial tang, a chocolatey essence emerges, entwined with a sweet, vanilla-like spice (owing to the Inga trees), blending harmoniously in the mouth and leaving a lingering, sumptuous flavor.
